Polish Concrete - Terrazzo / Integral Color & Decorative Inserts

Polished Terrazzo - Polished Concrete Floors

Integral color systems are integrated to wet concrete or other cement-based materials. The color is mixed throughout and offers a slight mottling but overall regularity. Certain variations can occur to the mix such as, color variations, also decorative inserts such as recycled glass, stone, quartz, and even metal. These inserts and variations give polished concrete/terrazzo a different and distinct to a historical flooring application that has its roots in the Renaissance period. Decorative inserts can be used alone in epoxy/resin terrazzo and sand cushion cement terrazzo. In some cases there is a combination with marble chips. There are different grades/size of chips such as #0, and #1, these give a traditional terrazzo look, while size #2 or #3 to produce a more aggressive appearance to terrazzo.

Because of its weight, materials, such as recycled glass, adds substantially to a project's overall recycled content in LEED calculations. Distinctive tones contribute significantly to the impact of an environmentally sustainable floor. Integral decorative inserts enhance the durability and duration of a polished concrete or terrazzo floor installation.

New concrete technology overlayment dries in approximately 24 hours at 10.000 PSI ready to grind and polish saving hours of down time, in contrast to the old classic terrazzo concrete formula that can only be grinded and polished after 7 to 10 days.
